Hot Chocolate Oats

What’s warm, delicious and surprisingly nutritious? These creamy Hot Chocolate Oats will put a pep in your winter morning step! When the crisp early morning temperature starts to kick in, so too do our cravings for a big ol’ bowl of warming porridge! But why not mix up your plain old oats recipe, and pimp your porridge with chocolate, into a nourishing breakfast that will also satisfy those sugar cravings!

Ingredients: 

  • ½ cup rolled oats 

  • 1 cup milk of your choice

  • 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder 

  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract 

  • ½ tbsp maple syrup 

  • Pinch of pink himalayan sea salt 

  • 10-20g dark chocolate (shaved)

  • Marshmallows (optional) 


Directions: 

1. Heat oats and milk in a saucepan, stirring occasionally for 5-minutes and bring to the boil 

2. Reduce heat and continue to stir occasionally 

3. In a separate bowl, combine protein powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract and salt in a bowl to create a thick paste 

4. Add paste mixture to the oats and stir until combined

5. Pour oats into a bowl and top with dark chocolate shavings and marshmallows (optional)
