While things may be heating up outside, they’re certainly cooling down in the kitchen! On a hot summers morning, there’s nothing better than refuelling post workout with a chilled chocolate smoothie, and thanks to Nicola from The Unrefined, we have a new recipe on our regular rotation!
What’s more? This naughty tasting creamy chocolate smoothie is packed full of vitamins and minerals thanks to the addition of greens (that you can’t even taste - PROMISE)! Health hack alert!
1 scoop of protein powder (I use Botanika Blends Cacao Hazelnut Protein)
1 frozen banana
1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
Bunch of washed Kale
Handful of Spinach
1 tsp Cacao (optional - I like to add a little bit more even though it is in the protein)
Combine in a blender for 1-2 minutes or until smooth.
Add ice if you’re on the go!
Top with fresh fruit and granola for extra crunch!
